Sooo, how did we end up with 4 cats you ask….

It all started with Catie in 2019. We were killing time in PetSmart before going to watch a movie when we spotted her sitting in a cage looking sad. Our oldest immediately fell in love with her and wanted to use his own money to rescue her.

In 2021, we decided Catie might like a furry friend, so along came Hugo. It didn’t take long for us to realize that Catie was perfectly happy being an only cat and had no interest in making feline friends!

To keep Hugo company, we welcomed Chester into the family. Chester and Hugo quickly became the best of friends, and Catie was quite content as long as they left her alone.

Sadly, Hugo passed away, and Chester seemed lost without his playmate. Hoping to give him some companionship, we brought home Charlie. While Chester and Charlie get along, their bond has never quite matched the friendship Chester shared with Hugo.

At that point, we thought our family was complete with Catie, Chester, and Charlie. Then our second child came home with a stray cat named Charlott, and just like that, we became a four-cat household!

We have always been cat people, however a few years ago our youngest kid found a love for dogs..

It all began when she started walking the neighbour’s dog and helping care for him when his owners were away for the day.

For almost two years, we said no to getting a dog of our own, but eventually we gave in. Before making a decision, we spent a lot of time researching different breeds and what would be the best fit for our family.

We have always adopted rescue cats and had hoped to do the same with a dog. Unfortunately, none of the local rescues had a suitable match for our family at the time.

After careful consideration, we found a reputable breeder and arranged a visit to meet the puppies and their parents. We chose one of the last two puppies available, the smallest of the litter, and named her Lacey.
